Smoke&Mirrors Day 2
Tuesday 11.03.2014
Our second day stop was Smoke& Mirrors. We started our tour by watching editor working on one of his client's project. We asked him how he got into his position. And he explained and told us that the best way to start your career as a runner.
We were taken to see color grader. He showed one of his work the recent Netflix advert. I was so amazed with the equipment he had. Also it looked so fun to be a color grader. He finished a degree and photography but said that he has been into color grading since he was 17 and he started as a runner.
We asked about the runner opportunities and how to apply. To apply for any position in Smoke & Mirrors, you need to send a CV, cover letter and link for your work. When we got back from London I have applied for a runner position but unfortunately the position wasn't available.

BBC London Studio Tour- Day 1
10.03.2014 Monday
BBC London
Our visit to BBC started with talking about the history of the company. Nick Davey guided us through out the tour. Who is Nick Davey? He works in motion graphics in news. He started working for BBC in 1994 in graphics. And he explained the reason for doing motion graphics. It's for the segments that you can't do any other way. And he uses after effects. We watched a show reel of Nick.
We had a surprise session with Welsh journalist and newsreader Huw Edwards. We were asked which path to go in our future and where we desire to be? It was a very fun and interesting session. I believe that he is such an inspirational person.
Our next stop was BBC evening news studio. We were told the process of getting the presenter ready and live news. I was so amazed by the cameras and dollies. We got a chance to sit down around the news table and get our pictures taken.
